The film follows Yun Lak-yun, a woman juggling a hectic life running an inn, thanks to widespread customer referrals. Her dream is to live in a grand, palace-like home. Her daughter, Sun-yi, not yet a high school graduate, fantasizes about a lavish lifestyle but grapples with a strained relationship with her mother.

Initially thrilled to live in a sprawling house, Sun-yi soon realizes managing it isn’t easy. Unwilling to burden her mother with chores, she often dodges responsibilities with personal excuses.

When wanting new items to flaunt to her boyfriend, Sun-yi resorts to asking her uncle for money. Though reluctant, she humbles herself to get the cash she needs. Even with large sums, her eyes betray worry.

Sun-yi faces not only financial pressure but also the fear of her mother discovering her secrets, which could unravel everything. Her life grows complex and stressful, forcing her to confront tough choices.
