The film begins with Simon Qing, a young man from a wealthy, powerful family. Though taught about sex by his strong father, Simon remains inexperienced in love. That changes when he meets Violetta, his first love. They share joyful times at his father’s estate. But their love fades, and Simon embarks on a new journey for fresh experiences.

He meets Moon, a beautiful nun. One night, her curiosity leads her to explore Simon’s body with chopsticks, inspiring the film’s English title. They share intimate moments and marry. But their marriage falters when Simon is drawn to Golden Lotus, a woman with delicate feet, unhappily married to the short, poor Wu Da-Lang.
